Introduction
Pheochromocytoma is a catecholamine-secreting tumor arising from chromaffin cells of the adrenal medulla (90%) or extra-adrenal paraganglia (10%, called paragangliomas). These tumors produce excessive epinephrine, norepinephrine, and sometimes dopamine, causing episodic or sustained hypertension.
