Those answers separate vitiligo from common hypopigmented disorders and determine whether care is routine follow-up, specialist referral, or urgent escalation. Uncomplicated vitiligo is not a medical emergency, but it can carry an autoimmune and psychosocial burden that should not be dismissed as cosmetic.
